DTI Getting Started Guide

  • The DTI Getting Started Guide is available for download as *.pdf file.

Print version 600dpi [9.7Mb]: DTI_GettingStartedGuide_v07.pdf (by Pim Pullens).

For obvious reasons, the sample data cannot be made available for public download. The sample data can be obtained from our ftp server. For access credentials, please send an e-mail to support at brainvoyager dot com

Create custom DMR wizard

  • Documentation on scripts for use with DW-MRI data can be found here.

When to use

  • When the create project wizard fails
  • When byte swapping is needed (can occur with PHILIPS PAR/RECdata), that is: from little Endian to big Endian or vice versa.
  • When the number of bytes per pixel ≠ 2
  • When the Siemens MOSAIC matrix is incorrectly read by BrainVoyager.
  • When your acquisition matrix is >128x128.

WARNING

If your acquisition matrix is larger than 128x128, the automatic DMR-VMR coregistration feature in BrainVoyager QX will possibly fail. This means, you might need to do manual co-registration. We strongly recommend the acquisition matrix to be at maximum 128x128, since a larger matrix will be zero-filled in k-space (=interpolated in image space), resulting in data redundancy. Please ask your MR technician TO TURN OFF INTERPOLATION for DW-MRI acquisition.

Average multiple DTI acquisitions

In order to increase signal-to-noise (SNR), you might have acquired multiple repetitions in the same session. At the moment, BrainVoyager does not allow averaging of these multiple runs. There is a workaround:

  • using Matlab and the BVQXtools toolbox: download the m-file and documentation here
  • using an executable and the Matlab Component Runtime (MCR, freeware [info]): 1. get the MCR from our ftp server. 2. Download the executable and documentation here
