For BVQX users

First of all, this is a website for the user community of BrainVoyager QX. And to support this idea of a community, we're giving every user of our software the chance to contribute to the BVwiki, especially those who have developed into experts in the very fields of applied research they use BrainVoyager for.

BrainVoyager FAQ

One very important part of this approach is to answer frequently asked questions that arise when using the program, ranging from simple things as how to create a new project to issues as complex as a multi-study event-related-averaging plot.

Revision information

Another important thing to keep in mind with BrainVoyager is the fact that, as any other software, the program evolves with new techniques and requirements set by the user community. While we naturally do our best to provide you with both well tested and yet up-to-date, top-notch capabilities, we hope you understand that we cannot consider every (virtually) possible set of data for which the program might be used. Hence it is of utmost importance that you keep your version of BrainVoyager up-to-date, either by using the automatic update function from within the program or by looking at the revision history page, particularly to reflect the changes necessary to cope with increased demands, but also to make sure you have the most recent version before submitting bug reports.

For BVwiki editors

Before making a contribution to (or editing an article at) the BVwiki, please have a look at the extensions page, as well as the tutorial page explaining how to use the wikitext markup language.

Also, you are advised not to edit a page of another author (unless you're merely correcting obvious mistakes) before getting in touch with him/her first. You can do so by either leaving a comment on a user's discussion page or, if such a page exists, on the topic's discussion page instead.

Partially due to fMRI research being a relatively young field in the neurosciences, a full discussion hasn't yet been held for some of its methodology approaches. While we encourage users to speculate about the ways others perform their research, we also clearly discourage confrontational attacks by editing other users' articles to promote one's own point of view on a matter.

Before starting a subject, it is thus advised to ask one of the BVwiki maintainers for a suitable name to avoid ambiguity issues.
